Kill'em all: 1983: Originally named "Metal up your ass", after the record company refused to let the newly formed band to give such a name, Hetfield and his fellows grew angry and decided to give a name that just goes against record companies, hence "Kill'em All". The album is one of the heaviest and most aggressive, and yet still shows the extreme talent of the band. The album centers around death, hell, demons and just metal. This gave the band the opportunity they needed to become one of the most famous underground metal bands. Ride the lightning After their successful debut, metallica evolveld into a metal that is beyond thrash. In this album there are many of their best songs (creeping death,for whom the bell tolls, and one of the best metal instrumental songs, the Call of Cthulhu).This album has real good lyrics, the album goes further than the forces of evil (like in Kill'em all), it goes on about nuclear war, death penalty, epic fights and H.P. Lovecraft stories. Despite the fact the album has only 8 tracks it remains a memorable album in the history of metal. Master of the Puppets: 1985: Perhaps the best album of their career, this was one of the most influential metal album of the 80s .This brought the band out of their trash era into a new era... Just like Ride the Lightning the album it only has 8 tracks, yet this masterpiece has all it needs; the heavy spirit,melodious solos, amazing lyrics,and monstrous tunes. 1988 Metallica has lost a friend, metal music lost one the greastest bass player ever, and fans lost an idol. After Cliff Burton's death, the future of the band lokked dim, until they recruited jason Newsteed. The result was excellent, 9 brilliant metal song (all over at least five minutes). 1991: New forms of metal progressed, and the metal of the nineties was noticibly changing from the eighties. Metallica managed to keep up their excellence by producing an album that shows their new step to a more melodious (but by no means not "lightened") sounding metal, and 12 marvellously written songs.
